Lady Gaga celebrated the release of A Star Is Born with her Little Monsters this week.

The pop star marked the opening of her new film starring Bradley Cooper by taking hundreds of fans by surprise when the Grammy winner showed up at an advance screening of her movie in New York hosted by YouTuber Tyler Oakley on Wednesday (October 3).

"Thank you so, so much from the bottom of my heart for being here tonight," Gaga told the crowd. “Working with Bradley Cooper has been one of the greatest honors of my life. He fought for me to play this role."

In the modern musical reboot, Gaga stars as the insecure aspiring singer Ally, who comes to fall in love with an aging country singer-songwriter named Jackson Maine (Cooper).

As the artist explained of her character: "[Ally's] jaded by the music industry, she's been told she's not beautiful enough, that she has no self-confidence. You'll see that it's Jackson's love for her that  changes her life."

When Oakley asked what she hopes this current  generation will gain from the film, Gaga said, "Be who you are, fight to be who you are."

Cooper directs the drama, which features original music recorded and performed live by him and Gaga which they co-wrote with musicians Mark Ronson, Jason Isbell, and Lukas Nelson. The pair has issued several songs from the motion picture, including "Shallow," which debuted at No. 14 on  Billboard 's Digital Song Sales chart.
