The Tampa Bay Lightning (33-24-6) defeated the Montreal Canadiens (23-28-10) 4-3 in the shootout on Saturday night at Amalie Arena.
Trailing 3-2 in the third period, Tyler Motte scored a short-handed goal to tie the game 3-3. After a scoreless overtime, this game went all the way into the sixth round of the shootout before a Victor Hedman goal lifted the Lightning to a win and a second point.
in addition to Motte, the Lightning also got goals from Brayden Point and Anthony Cirelli, both in the second period. Andrei Vasilevskiy went 28-of-31 in net for the Lightning.
Tampa Bay is next in action when they host the Calgary Flames on Thursday night. Puck drop from Amalie Arena is scheduled for 7 PM on Thursday.
