FIU Panthers Paws Up for "Pitbull Stadium" Partnership

Florida International University Panthers, a NCAA Division 1 school, are paws up for a new five-year naming rights partnership with Miami rapper, Pitbull a.k.a. Mr. 305.

International superstar and entrepreneur Armando Christian Pérez, better known as Pitbull, and FIU Athletics announced a groundbreaking partnership today, FIU "Pitbull Stadium."

FIU Athletics Director Scott Carr said, "This is not a stadium naming rights sponsorship, it's a collaboration."

Pitbull started out as Mr. 305, then morphed into Mr. Worldwide, and in 2015, Pitbull was Mr. Florida in 2015 as Florida's tourism ambassador.

Visit Florida struck a million-dollar deal with the Miami rapper to officially serve as Florida's tourism ambassador. Now he is Mr. FIU.

Pitbull says he didn't graduate high school or college, but a teacher named "Hope" gave him hope and told him he was talented. He now wants to give back and inspire FIU students.

Director Carr said he can't wait until Pitbull performs at Pitbull Stadium.
