Rays Take Second Straight From Guardians

The Tampa Bay Rays (73-75) defeated the Cleveland Guardians (84-64) 3-1 on Friday night in Cleveland. The Rays have now won the first two games of the four game series.

Logan Driscoll's first big league home run in the third inning gave the Rays a 2-0 lead, before Jonathan Aranda hit a solo homer in the fourth to make it 3-0. Cleveland got one back in the eighth but that was as close as the Guardians would get.

Zack Littell (7-9, 3.73) pitched six shutout innings in which he struck out five to pick up the win.

The Rays will now look to win the four game series against the Guardians when the teams meet in the third game on Saturday night. First pitch Saturday is scheduled for 6:10 PM - Chris Adams-Wall begins pregame coverage with This Week In Rays Baseball at 4:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
