(New York, NY) -- Hip hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs was arrested overnight in New York City and says he's looking forward to clearing his name in court.

Combs was taken into federal custody in New York City Monday night and charges against him remain sealed for now but that's expected to change today.

The prosecution is being led by the Southern District of New York, who confirmed the news. “Earlier this evening, federal agents arrested Sean Combs, based on a sealed indictment filed by the SDNY,” Damian Williams, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District, said in a statement. “We expect to move to unseal the indictment in the morning and will have more to say at that time.”

Combs' lawyer released a statement saying his client had voluntarily relocated to New York City expecting the charges.

Back in July, Combs faced new sex trafficking allegations in a lawsuit from a former porn star.

Nearly a dozen lawsuits have now been filed against him alleging physical abuse or sex trafficking.
