Trump: Woman, Not Man, Took Photos that Led to Arrest of Would-be Assassin

(West Palm Beach, FL) -- Former president Donald Trump is crediting a woman for helping law enforcement nab his would-be assassin in Florida.

Speaking at a town hall Tuesday night in Michigan, Trump said it was a woman, not a man who identified the suspect and started taking pictures.

Calling it a "miracle," Trump said the female witness thought suspect Ryan Routh "looked like trouble" as he was running away from his golf course.

Trump says after she took the photos, she sent them to the Palm Beach County sheriff's office who put out a BOLO and the suspect was caught on I-95 in Martin County an hour later.

Trump said not many people would have done what this woman did, and he really would like to meet her.

The Martin County Sheriff says that the female good Samaritan was brought to the arrest scene where she identified the suspect.

Trump said the assassination attempt was foiled by a heads-up secret service agent and this female driver.

He quipped, "See, women are smarter than men!"
