The Tampa Bay Rays (7-7) defeated the New York Yankees (8-6) 5-4 in ten innings on Saturday night at Tropicana Field. With the win the Rays have won the series against their AL East Rival.
This was a back and forth game throughout - the Yankees had leads of 1-0 , 3-2 and 4-3 as this game progressed. Tied 3-3 after nine, the Yankees took their final lead at 4-3 in the top of the tenth. But the Rays tied the game on a bunt single from Taylor Walls in the bottom of the tenth before Jonathan Aranda hit a RBI single on the ground that lifted the Rays to a 5-4 win.
The Rays will now look to sweep the Yankees when they meet in the series finale on Sunday afternoon.
