As Kendrick Lamar prepares for his performance at the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show, not everyone is thrilled to see the rapper light up the stage at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans next year.

Shortly after it was announced that the "Not Like Us" rapper will be the halftime act at the Super Bowl LIX on February 9, Cam'ron used his It Is What It Is podcast to voice his frustrations of the organization choosing him over another rapper who he believed better fit the host city of New Orleans. Cam noted that while he loves K. Dot, he disagrees with the choice to have him as the Super Bowl Halftime performer given NOLA-born rapper Lil Wayne's connection to the city, per VIBE.

"I love Kendrick Lamar, I loved the pop-out, I think he's one of the top artists of this generation, period. Hate the selection," he said. "It's in New Orleans, and you don't get Lil Wayne? That's what we doing... not just Hot Boys, Cash Money, all the songs Lil Wayne has done, whether it's Blink 182... there's no reason why Lil Wayne should not be performing at the Super Bowl."

Cam went on to share his theory as to why Lil Wayne was not chosen, claiming someone in the organization is "stopping" him from performing, with many believing he's referring to JAY-Z.

"It's not really a secret. Lil Wayne had a problem with somebody before who's kinda part of the organization running it. This is payback," he said, adding, "Bro, it's ridiculous ... Lil Wayne not to be performing in New Orleans for the Super Bowl is egregious, and it gotta stop."
