Miami, FL - A bomb threat at PortMiami on Monday morning led to significant traffic disruptions before authorities declared the threat unfounded.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the port around 9:15 a.m. after receiving a bomb threat.
The port's tunnel was temporarily closed, causing extensive traffic delays as cargo truck drivers and cruise passengers faced significant disruptions.
While there was no credible danger, officials have increased patrols as a precaution and warned travelers to expect ongoing traffic delays as law enforcement remains on high alert to ensure safety.
PortMiami wrote on X (formerly Twitter) "PortMiami is working with all authorities to ensure the safety of residents, visitors & workers due to a security concern that affected traffic in the morning. Per U.S. Coast Guard, PortMiami is currently at Maritime Security Level 1, which means normal operations have resumed."
PortMiami has since resumed normal operations, but authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure the safety of residents, visitors, and workers.
