A brush fire that charred 40 acres in Palm City is now 100 percent contained but the area is not out of the woods just yet.
"You talk about flare ups I mean with the conditions as dry as they are, it's always a concern."
Martin County Fire Rescue's Cory Pippin tells CBS 12 News that they're keeping an eye on the area.
Meanwhile, homeowners in the area are urged to keep their gutters clean and free of pine needles because those can work as fuel if a hot ember lands on the roof.
The Florida Forest Service says there are a number of brush fires and prescribed burns going on across the state.
