Ft. Lauderdale's mayor hosting a town hall tonight at the Coral Ridge Yacht Club to discuss redevelopment plans for the Galleria Mall. Tim Hernandez, President of the Coral Ridge Country Club Estates Association, says he's not against an upgrade. A group of developers bought the property last month with plans to build nine thirty-story towers offering housing units, a hotel, restaurant, office and retail space. The proposal was submitted under the Live Local Act, so it doesn't need public input or city leaders to sign off on it.
